A High Level of Trust

LEGUS membership is not guaranteed. Every application is screened for attributes and credentials that point to high quality work and international experience. In the U.S., member firms must be AV-rated. Our Membership Committee also reviews individual attorney qualifications and how active they are beyond practicing law. For example: Do they teach law? Are they involved with civic and community organizations? Finally, we investigate an applicant's reputation by contacting attorneys in the applicant's area. In the end, when an applicant is accepted into LEGUS, there is a high level of trust among all members that the new member firm is qualified.

LEGUS President, Sandra Boyer, is an international legal industry veteran who works with law firms in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia. Boyer has written two books on associate training and retention, and her articles have been featured in several legal publications. Widely known as a law firm management expert, Boyer is accessible to all LEGUS members on a daily basis. Her futuristic visioning has helped LEGUS become much more than simply a hub for referrals to pass through. She is focused on building LEGUS with top-notch law firms, and helping them become better law firms.

Every year, hundreds of good cases that require experienced legal minds are passed between LEGUS members around the world. Some of these are extremely interesting cases, yet in all instances LEGUS members have provided the client with outstanding service in and out of their local jurisdictions.

Created in 1995 to help small to mid-sized law firms compete more effectively in the global market, LEGUS has carved out a meaningful niche in the international legal industry. In addition to our two cornerstone policies of (a.) only admitting small to mid-sized law firms, and (b.) allowing one law firm per jurisdiction, LEGUS goes above and beyond the traditional network platform and provides members with relevant management strategies, timely education programs, and modern marketing practices.
